Cognitive behavioural therapy (cbt) in Ayrshire
Compassionate therapy, to support you.
Evidence-based CBT for anxiety, depression, and grief — a personal and confidential space to work things through, right here in Ayrshire. APP Therapy is here to support all members of the Ayrshire community, regardless of sexuality, race, disability, or neurodivergent identity.
Please note – My preference is to work 1:1 in person sessions, rather than online.
How I can help
Three areas of focused, specialist support.

Anxiety
When worry takes the wheel
Ruminating, negative thinking, avoiding the things you used to do without a second thought — anxiety can quietly narrow your world. CBT works by making sense of those patterns and gently loosening their grip. Together we’ll notice the thoughts that keep your anxieties going, test them out, and rebuild your confidence step by step. Your anxiety maybe in the context of social settings or that of just a general nature. You may also have phobias or anxiety and panic attacks. All can be treated through CBT.
Depression
Finding light in the low days
Depression can make everything feel heavier and further away — even the things that once brought you comfort. Hopelessness, apathy and extreme tiredness are common symptoms of depression. Using a practical, compassionate CBT approach, we’ll take small, manageable steps to reconnect with what matters to you.

Grief Counselling
Room to carry what you’ve lost
Grief has no timetable and no right way to be done. Whether your loss is recent or something you’ve been holding for a long while, you deserve a gentle space to speak about it honestly. There is no pressure here to move on or feel a certain way. Together we’ll make room for the memories, the difficult feelings, and the questions that come with loss — so that in time, you can carry it in a way that lets life feel possible, a life that forms around the loss.
A warm welcome
Practical, evidence-based support — shaped around you
Reaching out for help is a the first step for seeking change. I’m Andrew Pullan, a private CBT therapist working in Ayrshire. My approach is practical and grounded in the evidence for CBT. We start with where you are, understand what’s keeping things stuck, and build clear, workable ways forward — collaboratively
What to expect
No pressure. Just a first conversation.
Not sure whether therapy is right for you? That’s completely normal. Here’s how getting started usually works.
A personal, safe space
A relaxed first session to talk through what’s been happening and what you’d hope to get from therapy. No commitment required.
Confidential throughout
Everything we discuss stays private, within a professional, ethical framework. This is your space to be honest and unhurried.
A plan built for you
From there we shape a personalised approach around your goals, moving at a pace that feels manageable — never rushed, never off a script.
